Being a deacon gives Joe many opportunities to share his “jack of all trades” abilities in service to Covenant. He served as a deacon for over 15 years in our sister church, First OPC in Sunnyvale, before coming to Covenant in 2000. The Lord has used Joe’s work experience to train him in a variety of areas. His work career spanned 45 years, with experience in automotive, medical, and aerospace manufacturing, and he retired in 2021.
Joe was raised in New Jersey in a Catholic home, attending a Catholic grammar school, high school, and college. He believes the Holy Spirt began working on him back in college. He doesn’t know the exact time nor the moment the light turned on. “All I know is what I believe to be the truth: the Bible is the inspired word of God and has revealed to his people what is true. God calls his elect, we are justified by the work of Christ, made right in the sight of God, and given faith to believe in our Lord.”
He and his wife Marilyn live in Gilroy; he is the father of three and the grandpa to five amazing grandchildren. Joe enjoys tending the vines in his vineyard and traveling the world. He and Marilyn readily share their love of seeing new places as travel agents, and they are both quick to help and serve others in their church and community.
